MAN, I got a little out of hand with this page but I wanted to like try and capture a sun setting... Which in B&W ended up being a little fussy. I'm thinking hard about trying out flat colours for the next chapter, would you guys be game for letting me experiment a little?? I'd shade it kind of like how I've been with the B&W... Ah, I just know what'll happen in CH 5 would look soooo great in colour. AHHH..... DECISIONS.

I'm excited for whatever coloring you give us!

When it comes to art isn't experimenting with it what's most important? Personally I enjoy seeing how someone's art style gradually changes. This is one of the things I like about webcomics. It's very interesting to be able to watch a process like that.

@lazy-lil-king Thanks man, means a lot for sure. ; w;
@annann Yeah I think you're right. I feel the same way with the webcomics I read, seeing the journey always makes me hopeful and excited for my own (journey). I just worried a little because Indigents has seen so many changes, from being a project with two artists, to me taking over and my drawing style being completely different, and trying to find my way out of the biggest art block of my life. I just don't want to turn all the lovely people who read annd enjoy the comic off by making tons of changes--but I also have a vision and a reinvigorated passion for the story and what it could look like in the future. > w< I do appreciate your input tho and it makes me feel heaps better about experimentation.

realistically you draw it and I'll like it. ^^ usually some people will do like first 2 pieces of a chapter in color while the rest is black and white. It just depends!

The one thing I would caution is whether or not adding colour impacts your ability to keep the update schedule you want. Can you sustain the effort over the life of the story? If not, B&W is a better solution to keep you sane and to increase our odds of getting the full story ;-).

Definitely a very good point--and one I've put a bit of thought into. When I picked Indigents back up two years ago I was just coming out of a reaaaallly dark place in my life and I had gone on such a long drawing hiatus, longest in my life, so I was both picking up the pieces mentally and artistically. It was a struggle and doing the comic by myself was insanely difficult bc I didn't have any confidence in my ability to draw--by this point I was just the colorist and bg artist so like I felt good about my rendering skills but that was about it. Lifes in a really great spot than wont be going anywhere, I'm happier, and like through this two year transitional period like I really have gone from pushing myself SO hard just to draw a page to enjoying it a lot and feeling growth while doing that. I've created a method that helps me finish a page hella fast. I might take @raephiums advice and try like a few pages to a chapter and then transition--bc above all I've sorted out my style, the look, and format, now I just need to be a more consistent uploader and its SUPER important to me. I appreciate you taking the time to drop the advice and I will seriously contemplate further how pushing in another direction will affect my update schedule. <3 Ty ty

@raephium You're a dang sweetie. I like that idea. I'm a little neurotic and feel like I make up these rules for myself that the comic has to be consistently one way through a whole chapter (tho this one has been all over the place but I feel like the last half has really sung). But why not do some pages color and some not. I just have the drive to make Indigents look great, which is a goooood feeling. c:

@likesummer I love the comic <3 and no matter if it's black and white or not the actual drawing of the comic is less important to me over the story told within it. like the story and Im excited to read it! I also don't say very much very often unless I got a super opinion to type out or an idea. <3
